Pre-Order Policy

  1. VRgear offers very flexible pre-order policy with low deposit. Every pre-order would be treated carefully, and given top priority in shipment when product is in stock.
  2. Every pre-order would be granted an extra coupon for the full order payment.(Usually twice of the deposit, like if you pay USD4 as deposit, you get a USD8-10 coupon for the full price.) Coupon would be sent by email once the product is in stock.
  3. Once the product is formally released we would send notification by email to every customer who's placed pre-order. Full payment should be paid within 10 business days once you receive the notification, or we can't guarantee you the availability of some hot toys. Shipment would only be made after full payment be done.
  4. Deposit for the pre-order can't be returned even if you change your mind, as it's already been at a quite low level and we do have extra cost on handling the pre-stock.

How to order Prescription Lens Adapters

The process of ordering prescription lenses may seem confusing at first, but there’s nothing to be afraid of.Your prescription should look similar to the example below:

Here's a sample prescription. Swipe left/right or use keyboard left/right arrow keys to navigate.这是一个示例处方。 向左/向右滑动或使用键盘左/右箭头键进行导航。

These are Latin abbreviations:OD (Oculus dexter) means the right eye (which is always listed first) and OS (Oculus Sinister) means the left eye.

CYL (Cylinder): This indicates the amount of astigmatism, and is written in 0.25 increments. Not all prescriptions have a cylinder correction, and some prescriptions have a cylinder correction in only one eye. If you don't have an astigmatism correction then your doctor may leave this field blank,or they may put'SPH,'DS','Plano',or '00'in this field.

SPH(Sphere): This is the main strength of your eyeglass prescription, and is written in 0.25 increments. If the field has'SPH','PLANO, or '00, this means there is a 0.00 power and should be entered as so.

AX,AXS or X (axis): This is also part of the astigmatism correction, and is written in increments of 1 (one). If there is no cylinder, then there should be no axis. Since it's a degree/angle, it will be represented as a value between 1 and 180. If there is no cylinder, it's possible that the doctor might enter 0, but this would just indicate that there is no axis.

Add (Addition): This is a value that is commonly used for bifocal or progressive lenses, as well as reading glasses. It indicates how much power gets added to the distance Rx to create the reading-only Rx. we usually recommend to use distance/far prescription (without the Add), but if you have more than one pair of glasses, we would encourage you checking which one gives you the best clarity in VR.

Pupillary distance(PD) or interpupillary distance(IPD): is the distance me-asured in millimeters between the centers of the pupils of the eyes. PD is only required in case of the Quest 2,Rift S,Rift (CV1),HP Reverb and the Oculus GO Prescription Lens Adapters.

Please see the picture below which shows how to enter the above prescription on the order page:

A plus sign (+) in front of your SPH number means you are farsighted and a minus (-) sign means you are nearsighted.
Attention: It is very important to enter the plus and minus signs correctly – just like on your prescription.

Pupillary Distance

Pupillary distance (PD) or interpupillary distance (IPD) is the distance measured in millimeters between the centers of the pupils of the eyes. PD is only required in case of the Rift S, Rift (CV1), HP Reverb, Oculus GO and the Oculus Quest 2 Prescription Lens Adapters.

We use Binocular measurement as the interpupillary distance (IPD) measurements.

High Index

A high index lens has a higher “index” of refraction. This means it has a greater ability to bend light rays to provide clear vision for people with stronger prescription. High index prescription lenses are often used to reduce lens thickness.

Our order page will automatically set high index lenses as mandatory if your prescription requires it. Otherwise it is optional. The index value depends on your prescription and is determined by our opticians (stronger prescriptions require higher index of refraction).

Blue Light Protection

Blue light is a part of visible light in the 380-500nm range and is emitted by monitors in VR devices. Exposure to a lot of blue light in the evenings and at night can disrupt the body clock, leading to poor sleep and effects on other body processes that depend on the body clock, such as digestion. The possibility of other effects is also being investigated.

It is common for a blue light blocking lenses to have a noticeable yellow or amber tint that block out all damaging light. Because these lenses block out 100 percent of the harmful light, they also dramatically change the color of what you’re looking at, casting everything in a yellow tint.

We use a high quality blue light coatings, in which only a harmful portion of blue light spectrum is cut out. The yellow tint is still there, but it is very subtle and virtually unnoticeable.

Are contact lens and eyeglass prescriptions the same?

No, a glasses prescription is different to a contact lens prescription. Glasses sit slightly away from your eyes and contact lenses sit directly over your eye, so two different tests and measurements are required.
Please only use your eyeglass prescription for Lens Adapters.

  • There's no PD value on my prescription. How can I measure my PD?

The PD information is very important and it stands for pupillary distance.
If the PD value is not on your prescription, the best way to find this out is consulting your optometrist (they should be able to provide it to you via phone), but if this in any case is not possible, there are a few ways to measure it on your own:
how to measure your PD
We recommend that if you measure pupillary distance yourself, you try several attempts to be sure you get a fairly accurate measurement.

*PD is only required in case of the Rift S, Quest 2, Rift (CV1), HP Reverb and Oculus GO Prescription Lens Adapters.
